The Flip Flop House, is to be located in Houston's 5th Ward neighborhood. The 1045 sf. single family home is a winning submission in an affordable housing competition.  The three bedrooms and two baths expands and contracts around a tightly organized core. This allows all living spaces to receive light and air from three sides. In addition, the literal flipping of the first and second floor plans around the core creates a generous porch on the front side of the house as well as a carport on the back. On the second floor, the flipping produces a double height space over the living room, and a rear deck off the master bedroom.
